Zombie Jitsu Production Video

Yesterday, my friend Andre Givogue an I filmed the last 2 inserts for our short film Zombie Jitsu. These inserts included a cool special effects shot where we got a stab a Zombie through the chest.

In order to achieve this effect, we  constructed a prop torso in which we placed a blood  pack. As the spear travels through the prop, it pierces the blood pack and releases the fake blood.

Note: To achieve the fake blood, we used a mix of corn syrup, water, lots of red food colouring and just a few drops of green colourful to darken the blood recipe.

Fortunately, we were pleased with the very first shot and found no need to reset the shot (good thing too, because setup took over 1 hour!)

Support the Zombie Jitsu film

Zombie are here!

And they’re going to learn Jiu-Jitsu?

(Little Matrix reference.. hope you picked up on that!)

Hey!

We’re at it again! This time we’re taking our martial arts action film genre and combining it with the good old Zombie Movie genre. What does that give us: Zombie Jitsu! These are not you’re run of the mill, plain vanilla Zombies, no no, these are highly trained ninja-like Zombies.. They’ll kick your ass ten times before you hit the ground, then they’ll eat your brains! lol

So the project is just in development stage right now and we need YOUR support to get it off the ground. We need a little help to make this the greatest action-horror zombie short film ever! Please check out our funding campaign here.

If you can’t contribute.. that’s cool, we understand but what you can do is spread the word! Send this link to all your Facebook friends, your Twitter followers, etc..

Thanks!

Sucuri.net saved my Interwebs!

So on Monday September 10th, GoDaddy had a massive system wide crash! It was pretty bad! Everything (including their own godaddy.com website) was down! Apparently it wasn’t a hack, just a crash but who knows!

Anyways, as all of my websites are hosted on GoDaddy, this was bad! To make things worse, as soon as the service came back on, one of my websites got hacked and the malware spread to ALL websites on my server! …just great :S

This malware was rewriting htaccess files to redirect incoming traffic to malicious sites (fortunately, google caught it and was redirecting back to google.com. This was good to protect my website’s visitors but not good for me since all traffic to my sites was redirected to Google :S

So I spent the next day searching through support sites and WordPress forums and everyone was telling me to nuke my sites and restart! Yeah right! I’ve been working on these websites for over 5 years… Nuking and starting over is NOT an option!

Finally, a friend recommended Sucuri.net I looked through their site, looked at video.. Looks pretty decent I thought. For 189.99, they will clean up and protect up to 5 websites for 1 year! I know, $200 may seem a little steep but it’s worth it!! Don’t waste your time trying to clean it up yourself and your hosting provider won’t do it either, let the Pros do it!

Sucuri Security

I finally gave in and signed up for Sucuri around 11:00pm Tuesday night and then went to bed with high hopes but a bit of doubt. When I woke up this morning, I had a nice surprise! An email message from Sucuri Techs telling me that all my sites were malware free!!

Wow!!! That was fast!! ….I couldn’t believe it!!

These days, website security is a MUST! WordPress security plugins may help to prevent hacks but if you do get attacked, they won’t help repair them…

Get Sucuri.net to protect your Interwebs!!
