How to Use Layer Masks & How to Select Hair

This week, we launched 2 new video tutorials on YouTube. The first is How To Use Layer Masks in Photoshop. Adobe Photoshop Layer Masks are a great tool for controlling the appearance of a layer. A layer Mask is a monochromatic layer (fancy word meaning black and white) that controls what is visible and what is invisible on a photoshop layer. Simply put: white = visible, black = invisible.
This first tutorial will explain how to use Photoshop Layer Masks
Now that we know how to select items and create layer masks, I will show you a great technique for doing complex selections.
Have you ever to remove the background of a portrait but the person had spiky hair, or curly hair and the task just seemed absolutely impossible? ….Well I have good news for you!… using this simple technique, you can easily create a layer mask around the hair and remove the background with ease!
